1952 – opening of Centralny Dom Towarowy (CDT, popularly known as CeDeT) in Warsaw
1977 – opening of first SMYK-branded store in CDT
2000 – newly established company Smyk sp. z o.o.
2001 – introduction of own-brands COOL CLUB (apparel) and SMIKI (toys and hardware)
2006 – opening of first SMYK stores in Ukraine and Germany
2009 – launch of operations in Romania
2011 – introduction of online store smyk.com
2013 – launch of international expansion of COOL CLUB brand, using franchising model
2016 – acquisition of Smyk Group by Bridgepoint
2017 – further growth in the chain, change of sales model in Russia and Germany to franchise model
2018 – launch of mobile app for Smyk Cały dla Małych store
